UAE-based e-commerce retailer AWOK.com has now ventured into Saudi Arabia. This is in line with the company’s vision of expanding its operations across the GCC. Customers in the KSA region will now be able to purchase from around 50,000 products across 30 categories on AWOK.com.

With this new development, customers will be able to purchase the products of their choice from the AWOK KSA website as well as on the Android and iOS application catering specifically to the KSA market. The website and AWOK mobile platform is bilingual and available in both English and Arabic. This development comes as a part of AWOK’s dedication to personalise its website and application for each market and improving the shopping experience through deals and promotions specific to the country. The AWOK e-commerce platform is now available across KSA.

“This is an exciting time for us as we want to further build on our growth story and expand our online presence to come closer to our customers in the Kingdom whilst providing them with a remarkable and convenient shopping experience. Our aim is to become the top e-commerce platform in KSA within the next two years. We are seeing some excellent traction with our customers in KSA,” says Ulugbek Yuldashev, CEO & founder, AWOK.com.

“Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in the MENA region. We have seen high demand for shopping online in the Kingdom, given the region has one of the largest internet penetrations in the Middle East. Around 75% of the population has access to the internet. We cater to all age groups, with an extremely user-friendly and convenient online shopping experience,” he adds.

AWOK is continuously pursuing new ways of enhancing the shopping experience of its customers through providing convenience and bridging geographical boundaries. According to Statista, e-commerce revenues in the country exceeded $4.5 billion in 2016 alone. By 2020, the market size for e-commerce in Saudi Arabia is expected to grow to $8.35 billion, with the number of customers set to exceed 17.5 million by 2021.
