Operation Falafel

Operation Falafel, specialising in Arabic street food, is all set to donate 10,000 meals to support communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic across the UAE. This initiative comes as part of the ‘10 million meals’ campaign, announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The ‘10 million meals’ campaign will support families and individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, due to unemployment and income reductions. The campaign will be led by Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Food Bank.

Commenting on Operation Falafel’s participation in the ’10 million meals’ campaign, Manhal Naser, CEO & co-founder, AWJ Investments, said, “With Ramadan approaching, the 10 Million Meals Campaign is just another milestone that proves the wisdom and vision of the leadership that has always been in the forefront of their mission. The campaign will secure 10 million free meals to families in need during the month of Ramadan, and it is with great honour that we announce our contribution of 10,000 meals in support of this campaign.”

“There is no better time than now to stand together, hand in hand, in support of each other to show our commitment and solidarity to the people of the UAE during these trying times,” he added.

Launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in collaboration with the Social Solidarity against Covid-19, the campaign enables entities, companies, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, as well as the general public to purchase a number of meals online or donate packaged and canned food supplies to be distributed to disadvantaged families and individuals from different nationalities living across the UAE.
