Piyush Kumar Chowhan appointed as CIO of Panda Retail Company

Piyush Kumar Chowhan, Group CIO, Lulu Group International

Piyush Kumar Chowhan has been appointed CIO of Panda Retail Company, part of Savola Group. Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Panda Retail Company is one of the biggest grocery retailer in the region operating Hyper Panda (larger stores) and Panda Supermarkets.

In his role as CIO, Piyush will be leading the digital transformation of Panda Retail, developing and executing customer related strategies including digital commerce, customer loyalty and digital marketing. He will also be responsible for the retail implementation of cloud-enabled systems to enhance the power of data in decision making. Prior to joining Panda Retail, Piyush was the Group CIO at Lulu Group International, and was responsible for digital strategy and execution of technology for all its global businesses across 12 countries.

Piyush is a digital evangelist with a passion for transforming businesses with the use of technology. He has over 20+ years of experience in driving change using the latest technological innovations thereby enhancing business value. Piyush has acquired strong domain knowledge in retail, e-commerce and supply chain management while working for global retailers like Walmart, Target, Circuit City, Tesco, and Best Buy. He has also been instrumental in leading the deployment of state-of-the-art supply chain replenishment program, defining the roadmap for future-ready retail stores and artificial intelligence and analytics.
