According to a report by the United Nations, the fashion industry accounts for about 10% of global carbon emissions, and nearly 20% of wastewater. While the environmental impact of flying is now well known, fashion sucks up more energy than both aviation and shipping combined. 85% of our used and unused clothing ends up in landfill. However, today there are sustainable fashion business models emerging in the region that are proving that it is possible to make profits without harming the planet.
