Rising demand for designer brands in GCC fit-out market

The world’s leading interior designer brands are competing for the GCC’s $3.23 billion retail, commercial, healthcare and education interiors and fit-out market, according to dmg::events, the organisers of The Office Exhibition.

The 12th edition of The Office Exhibition will be held in Dubai on May 20–23, 2013, alongside the Index International Design exhibition. The show will feature a range of products and services across the general office/commercial, retail, healthcare, and educational design, fit-out, and upgrade sectors. This year’s exhibition will also see many new companies from countries which have not previously been represented at the show, including Inclass and JG Group from Spain, Angel Shack from South Africa, Nora Furnishings from Cyprus, and a new country pavilion from Egypt.

“In the GCC, commercial building construction projects due for completion in 2013 are forecasted to cross $51 billion. The interiors and fit-out market in the retail, commercial, healthcare and education sectors are a part of this market and is conservatively estimated at $3.23 billion. This represents a huge opportunity for established players and for new entrants into the segment who can take advantage of the trend towards exclusivity and designer products. We expect footfall at The Office Exhibition to cross 8,000 this year on the back of the economic recovery and most of the visitors will be serious trade customers and influencers,” says Frederique Maurell, event director for The Office Exhibition.
