Amazon.com Inc.’s smartphone app was busy this holiday season. Holiday sales made from its smartphone app doubled this year, as nearly 60% of Amazon.com customers shopped on a mobile device, says Amazon. Amazon reported that more than 10 million new members tried its prime service, which offers free two-day shipping, while same-day deliveries surged 10 times higher this year.

Cyber Monday remained the busiest mobile shopping day of the year for Amazon with customers ordering 18 toys per second. One of the most popular toys sold this holiday season was the Sparkle Princess Elsa Doll from the Walt Disney Co. movie Frozen.

GoPro Inc.’s wearable video cameras were among the most popular cameras sold on Amazon.com, while Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was a top videogame seller. The most popular books purchased on Amazon this year included Laugh-Out-Loud Jokes for Kids’ and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.
