A 12,000-sqft Spinneys supermarket opened today at Nakheel’s Golden Mile Galleria retail complex on Palm Jumeirah.

Spinneys is the first of 70 outlets – including Dr Nicholas medical clinic, Fitness First, Tim Hortons, Shakespeare & Co, Nando’s, Wagamama, Café Nero, Burger Fuel, Baskin-Robbins, Marina Pharmacy, Magrabi, Beyond the Beach, Aldo, Tavola, Holland & Barret and Tips & Toes, among others – scheduled to open at the Golden Mile Galleria retail complex many of which are currently undergoing fit out.

“The opening of Spinneys Golden Mile is a major milestone for the Palm Jumeirah community. We continue to bring more facilities and services to the island as part of our commitment to enhancing our communities across Dubai, and this new supermarket will be hugely welcomed by residents,” says Nakheel CEO Sanjay Manchanda.

“We like to open stores within residential communities where we can bring our quality and service closer to customers, making it easier for them to eat well and live well. Our Golden Mile store is also one of the first in the UAE to feature environmentally-friendly, glass-encased refrigerators that maintain optimum temperatures and cut energy consumption. With our new store opening, we look forward to being an integral part of those residing on Palm Jumeirah,” adds Johannes Holtzhausen, CEO, Spinneys Dubai LLC.

Golden Mile Galleria is among the diverse range of Nakheel’s retail, dining and entertainment projects coming up on Palm Jumeirah. Others include Nakheel Mall, The Pointe, Palm West Beach and The Boardwalk. A number of Nakheel’s residential projects on the island, including Azure Residences and Palm Views East and West, also feature retail and dining outlets.
