Sustainability: Ariel Middle East brings it’s pod swap shop to ripe market

December 13, 2020 | By RetailME Bureau

Laundry brand, Ariel Middle East is bringing their second pop up Pod Swap Shop to Ripe Market at Academy Park this weekend on 18th and 19th December 2020. The boutique comes as part of their sustainable fashion initiative that aims to raise awareness about purchasing habits when it comes to buying and wearing clothes.

The Ariel Pod Swap Shop encourages people to exchange preowned items of clothing for preloved items available from the brand’s pop-up boutique. The shop has been stocked from Retold, one of Dubai’s leading pre-owned fashion destinations and has items from well-known brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Ted Baker, Hugo Boss and Zara.

A relatively new concept in the region, the series of pop-up shops from Ariel aim to raise awareness about the importance of using quality detergents to keep clothes looking fresh and bright for longer. The intention is to discourage the throwaway nature of fast fashion, and to encourage people to be more conscious with their shopping habits.

Anyone who’s heading to Ripe Market this weekend can get involved by bringing an item of clothing from their wardrobe to swap with a piece from the Ariel Pods Swap Shop. In addition, people can bring an empty bottle of liquid detergent, to swap for a pack of Ariel PODS. Ariel Middle East launched its first pop up swap shop at Breakout DXB last month and welcomed hundreds of people to get involved and browse the stand.

Ariel is a part of P&G that serves consumers around the world with one of the strongest portfolios of brands, including Always®, Ambi Pur®, Bounty®, Charmin®, Crest®, Dawn®, Downy®, Fairy®, Febreze®, Gain®, Gillette®, Head & Shoulders®, Lenor®, Olay®, Oral-B®, Pampers®, Pantene®, SK-II®, Tide®, Vicks®, and Whisper®. The P&G community includes operations in approximately 70 countries worldwide
