TDIC inaugurates Eastern Mangroves Promenade

Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the master developer of major tourism, cultural and residential destinations in the capital, has announced the official opening of its newest retail and lifestyle hub, Eastern Mangroves Promenade. Part of the Eastern Mangroves complex, the Promenade has been designed to complement the hospitality and residential destination, which hosts the five-star Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara, along with residential offerings including apartments and suites. Catering to Abu Dhabi residents, resort guests and tourists alike, the Promenade is the emirate’s newest dining and retail venue boasting a mix of 11 restaurants, health & beauty and leisure outlets, including a supermarket, covering more than 37,673 sqft of leasable space.

Inspired by a souk-type avenue, the units are set back from the open air by an arch-fronted open colonnade providing a pedestrian zone specifically for the retail areas, where residents and visitors can enjoy jogging and biking activities – the perfect vantage point for making the most of the mangrove views that overlook the capital’s skyline. Cafes, restaurants and leisure areas offering a number of cuisine choices adorn the open seating spaces, while the 30-berth marina offers an added dimension to guests and residents. In addition to leisure and retail facilities, visitors can benefit from extensive parking facilities including 370 parking spaces with dedicated valet parking.

“Eastern Mangroves Promenade is peaceful, sophisticated and picturesque – the perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy the uninterrupted views over the stunning mangroves. It is also the first open air retail and leisure destination of its kind in Abu Dhabi, with an ideal mix of retail and food and beverage outlets and is in close proximity to the city centre and we’re confident that it will be a popular destination for all,” says Angus Woodhead, director of retail development at TDIC.
