Tesco strikes shop-in-shop deal with Holland & Barrett

British retailer Tesco has reportedly anniunced a shop-in-shop partnership with UK-based chain of health food concept Holland & Barrett to better utilise space in its larger stores.

Tesco launched the first Holland & Barrett shop-in-shop, spanning 1,300 sqft, at its Dudley Extra supermarket. It plans to set up similar-sized shop-in-shops at its Gatwick, Newcastle, Coventry Arena, Watford and Bar Hill in Cambridge stores.

Commenting on the partnership, Tesco CEO for the UK and Ireland Matt Davies, reportedly states, “We’re always looking at new ways our stores can best serve the needs of our customers, so we’re excited to be embarking on this partnership with such a recognised and trusted brand as Holland & Barrett. The new concessions will provide an exciting new offer for our customers that will complement our Tesco stores.”

The Holland & Barrett shop-in-shops at Tesco will offer around 3,000 stock items across its health, food, beauty and sports ranges.

“This pilot is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the value of a partnership between two trusted and complementary brands in retail and we are excited to be exploring with Tesco how their customers respond to this innovative in-store concept,” adds Holland & Barrett CEO Peter Aldis.
