Abu Dhabi’s luxury shopping and dining destination, The Galleria Al Maryah Island, is hosting a never-before-seen selection of historical moments commemorating the Founding Father of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for the Year of Tolerance.
In collaboration with the National Archive, The Galleria Al Maryah Island is hosting a unique photography exhibition, devoting this year’s holy month to the Year of Tolerance. The incredible exhibition is now open to all visitors during The Galleria’s operating hours.
Building upon the success of last year’s Ramadan display marking the Year of Zayed, the exhibition will showcase a curated selection of images featuring His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan during key moments in the development of the UAE. The photos focus on his efforts to establish tolerance and plant the seeds of this virtue among the UAE community and residents.
Spanning more than two decades, from 1965 to 1990, the collection highlights the fundamental values the Year of Tolerance represents – such as the spirit of coexistence amongst all cultures and enrichment of society through the promotion of tolerance through education and within the community.
“The participation of the National Archives in this exhibition opens the door to many historical pictures that showcase the efforts of our founding leader in shaping the UAE community and driving its ambitions and human values, which increase its solidarity and enhance its standing among all countries in the world,” says Husniya Al Ali, acting head of the corporate and community outreach department at the National Archives
The National Archives exhibition at The Galleria further establishes the national identity and promotes a sense of loyalty and belonging. They are inspired by some aspects of the visions, values, noble achievements and national principles of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Visitors can also come together at The Galleria Al Maryah Island from 8-11pm during the last five days of Ramadan to enjoy complimentary family-friendly activities, including henna art, children’s face painting, sand art, lantern making and more. Exclusive Eid Al Fitr themed activities will also continue throughout the first week of June. The Galleria also welcomes guests to dine for iftar and suhoor during the holy month at its award-winning selection of Dining Collection restaurants, including COYA, Zuma, La Petite Maison, Almaz by Momo and Roberto’s.
