The Sustainable City to launch first edition of ‘Origin’

November 1, 2018 | By RetailME Bureau

The Sustainable City, the first fully operational sustainable community in Dubai, will launch the first edition of ‘Origin’ – a market that will bring together a community of extraordinary designers, entrepreneurs and artisans.

Origin promises to provide a unique creative platform to showcase ethical, eco-friendly and sustainable handicrafts. These products will be carefully vetted and selected to ensure the best quality goods, from local, ethical producers.

This bi-monthly outdoor experience will be held at The Sustainability City Plaza for the first time on November 3, and will feature a variety of fun family activates like live music, live illustrations and children’s activities.

In addition to a range of handcrafted eco-friendly products, the organic food products on display will be genuine and authentic with no additives, such as locally grown vegetables and pure, traceable honey, among others. Through Origin, local producers are also provided guidance on operating more sustainably.

Origin’s vision is to positively shape the social, environmental and economic landscape, and support a thriving, sustainable future for our communities and the world. With the mission of offering the region’s leading creative community platform and marketplace, it will celebrate the best ethical, eco-friendly and sustainable products from local artisans.

Focused on nurturing a sustainable lifestyle among its residents and also on a wider regional and global scale, The Sustainable City places the well-being and healthy lifestyle of its residents as a fundamental priority. Offering a holistic, wellness-inspired environment that is free from toxins, noise pollution and cars, the community provides a comfortable micro climate thanks to its north-facing homes, green spaces, shaded areas, wind towers, a green fence and heat repelling materials.
