TheLuxuryCloset.com launches children’s wear category

TheLuxuryCloset.com, a regional online platform for pre-owned and new designer items, has recently included children’s wear to its expanding portfolio.

The children’s wear market in this region offers great growth potential owing to a predominantly large youth population, coupled with rising disposable income catalysing parents’ desire to offer the best to their children. However, the price of luxury clothing is often a barrier for parents, making purchase decision difficult.

Realising the growth potential, TheLuxuryCloset.com decided to add children’s wear as its latest category to enable parents to purchase as well as sell out-grown designer children’s clothes on its platform.

Commenting on the launch, Elisabeth Bohler, head of merchandising at TheLuxuryCloset.com, says, “Being the Middle East’s largest online luxury marketplace to buy and sell pre-owned items, our expertise and understanding of the region and market have grown to a place where launching children’s wear naturally became the next step for us. After introducing the clothing category in January 2015, we saw first-hand the high demand for luxury clothes with a 50% monthly growth. After seeing this success and studying the industry, we have decided to use this opportunity to introduce the newest section to our website – children’s clothes.”

“As parents see their children grow out of their old clothes and into their teen years, we found an untapped market that would allow us to expand our business, reach a new demographic and offer the region an exclusive platform to buy and sell designer clothes for kids at a discounted price,” she adds.

TheLuxuryCloset.com’s children’s wear collection includes a wide range from cute evening wear to stylish separates for both boys and girls from premium designers such as Moschino, Armani Junior, Fendi, Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana Kids, Ermanno Scervino, Roma e Tozka, Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Missoni, Stella McCartney, Kenzo, Roberto Cavalli Angels & Devils and Illudia, among others.
