The love to create beautiful fragrances and the urge to run a business led to the launch of the Jo Malone brand. My business partner and husband Gary and I ran the business for almost 14 years. We opened up a lot of territories during this time, although we opened our first shop only in 1994 – a tiny 300 sqft store at 154 Walton Street in London….
In 1999 the Jo Malone business was acquired by the Estée Lauder Companies, headed by Leonard Lauder, son of Estée Lauder…. I made a bold and a difficult decision to exit the Jo Malone business in 2006 as I was battling cancer. I had been its creative director until then.
However, in 2011, once the five-year contract period was over and I was feeling much better, I decided to rebuild and set up Jo Loves launching the first store in 2013….
