The reason is probably the approach of the extremely popular Black Friday when many retailers offer sharp discounts on these items.
Retail sales declined by 0.2% on a like-for-like basis in October compared with the same period last year. Even though total sales were up 0.9%, it was lower than the 1.4% recorded in October 2014, indicates the latest retail sales monitor compiled by the British Retail Consortium and KPMG.
