VOX Cinemas to come to Doha Festival City

Set to open in March, Doha Festival City house VOX Cinemas set to revolutionise the cinema experience with 18 screens. This Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas brand will include four new concepts completely unique to Doha Festival City.

“VOX Cinemas is one of the most highly anticipated brands for our customers and we are delighted to be bringing this concept to Qatar for the first time – showcasing what it does best. Doha Festival City is more than just a shopping destination, it is a place where visitors will be able to take advantage of a huge variety of activities and VOX sets the precedent for the premium experience on offer,” says the mall’s general manager Trevor Hill.

The VOX 4DX concept, exclusive to VOX Cinemas in the Middle East, will finally be available for movie lovers in Doha. Going beyond the confines of the theatre, the cinema’s 4DX technology transports audiences into another world with simulated rain, wind, thunder, lightning, motion and even scents. Equipped with dynamic 4DX motion chairs and engaging environmental effects, 4DX turns each movie into a journey beyond imagination.

VOX Cinemas’ luxury culinary concept THEATRE by Rhodes, the brainchild of Michelin Star celebrity chef Gary Rhodes and the first-of-its-kind in Qatar, will combine the perfect mix of fine food and film. Customers can relax in reclining leather armchairs and indulge in a gourmet menu which is brought straight to their cinema seat. In another exclusive offering for those who believe bigger is better – VOX MAX includes a wall-to-wall screen and the latest in sound technology. And VOX KIDS is a fun-filled cinema for little ones with an adjoining party room perfect for birthday celebrations.

Across all 18 screens, customers will be able to watch the latest Arabic, Indian and Hollywood blockbusters, as well as specially selected global film choices in world-class surroundings.

“As the biggest and most rapidly growing cinema exhibitor in the region, we are proud to bring our award-winning and unique cinema experiences to audiences in Qatar,” adds Cameron Mitchell, CEO, Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas. “Demand for innovative entertainment experiences is on the rise in Qatar which is why this partnership was a perfect next step for us. With an 18-screen cinema complex, unparalleled customer experiences, innovative concepts and high quality food and beverage, cinemagoers in Doha can expect many great moments and we are looking forward to a successful, long-term partnership with Doha Festival City.”

The QAR6.5 billion Doha Festival City will be home to a world-class range of entertainment and shopping experiences. Easily accessible with 8,000 parking spaces, including valet, VIP parking and dedicated bus and taxi drop off zones for visitor convenience, Doha Festival City is perfectly situated to offer movie-goers and cinema buffs the ultimate cinema escapism.
