Xtreme Zone championing sportstainment

Saudi Arabia-based business conglomerate Abdullah Al-Othaim Leisure has launched its third Xtreme Zone family entertainment destination in Abu Dhabi, at The Galleria Al Maryah Island.

Xtreme Zone is a state-of-the-art ‘sportstainment’ destination that combines entertainment along with physical activities for toddlers, children, teenagers and adults. It brings non-stop indoor entertainment packed with a wide variety of the latest amusement activities, attractions, action-packed gaming arcades and intriguing VR games to challenge every level of skill.

Explaining the Xtreme Zone concept, Fahad Al Othaim, chairman of Al-Othaim Leisure and Tourism, said, “What we have created is a robust sportstainment concept for our visitors in a fun yet safe environment. There is climbing, trampoline and a lot of activities to engage every age group.”

Spanning 44,200 sqft, the Xtreme Zone facility at The Galleria Al Maryah Island offers 12 lane bowling with a host of interactive activities including bouncy and fun trampoline park; challenging climbing walls for enthusiastic children; arcade games and a the regions first Tag Arena where the kids needs to finish the obstacle course and tag the best their best time. Other attractions of the facility include billiards to unwind over a game of pool or test critical thinking skills and bowling that will help participants think about how to innovate in their next workout session as a group alongside the café.

“The facility comes under the framework of Al Othaim Group’s plan to expand leisure projects outside the KSA. We are increasing our investment in the sector across different countries in the Arab region. Our vision is to offer an experience of leisure combined with fitness and recreational options to families. We have set-up a ‘futuristic’ ambience at the facility featuring a wide range of thrilling rides and attractions for all age groups,” Al Othaim added.

Currently, there are six Xtreme Zone locations in the GCC. Going forward, Al Othaim Leisure and Tourism have plans to roll out more Xtreme Zone facilities in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt. “Further afield, we are also looking for projects in India and Africa. Our head offices in UAE and Egypt will handle the expansions planned in India and Africa, respectively,” Al Othaim shared.
